June update adds 785 new data sets

Happy June to all OGIers!

As we bask in record breaking temperatures for 2022 in the UK, I hope you are enjoying the shade during your genealogical research indoors!

Today's update will be of great benefit to those with ancestors throughout England and Wales with many focusing on Cornwall, Durham and Norfolk.

North Elmham, Norfolk, is where many of my wife's ancestors lived and died.

Findmypast are expanding their Norfolk Gravestone image collection by adding transcriptions (though my wife's great-great-grandmother's grave is recorded as Arthur Margaret Jarrett as it had her husband mentioned as well!)

The update has added 785 new data sets to the site bringing the new total to 440,981.

Here are today's details.

  • Cornwall OPC Database - 48 new data sets
  • Durham Records Online - 7 new data sets
  • Durham and Northumberland - Cemetery Index (96 cemeteries)
  • Essex and Suffolk Surnames - 7 new parish registers
  • Findmypast Newspaper Birth Notices - 48 towns covered
  • Findmypast Newspaper Death Notices - 58 towns covered
  • Findmypast Newspaper Marriage Notices - 39 towns covered
  • Findmypast Norfolk Gravestone Photos - 91 new cemeteries
  • Findmypast Norfolk Gravestone Transcriptions - 345 cemeteries
  • Gravestonephotos.com - 14 new cemeteries
  • Lancashire OPC - 11 new data sets
  • OPC Dorset - 1 new data set
  • TINSTAAFL Marriage Project - 25 new parishes
  • TINSTAAFL Norfolk Baptisms - 3 new parishes

As you can see, if you have ancestors in these areas, it is worth taking a new look to find these new data sources.

Have a wonderful summer.  I hope to add more data as I find it.

Kind regards,

Tim Manners
